BRANDON, Fla. - For years -- as long as the Emergency Care Help Organization has been around here in Brandon -- folks have been bringing in their gently used (and sometimes still new) clothes to help with the ECHO clothes closet.
But since some of this stuff is so "still swell," it made sense try and re-sell some of it to raise cash for the various programs that help the needy in the eastern Hillsborough community
"We have everything from career clothes... to casual clothes," said ECHO Executive Director Stacey Efaw. "You could re-do your whole wardrobe."
And so this Thursday -- over at the Winthrop Barn on Bloomingdale, all this stuff -- including the brands you know and need -- will be on sale in what they're calling a trunk show. All of the clothing being made available for literally pennies on the dollar. A V-I-P preview starts at 5:30. General admission begins at 6:30.
But we're assured that most all of this stuff will be gone by the time they wrap the sale at 9 pm
"The great thing about this event is it really is shopping for a cause," said Efaw. "100% of the proceeds that we raise on Thursday night is gonna help ECHO feed needy families over the holidays."
