HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - A woman who went missing after getting into a fight with her husband late Saturday is the owner of a burned-out car found in east Hillsborough County. Skeletal remains were found inside the 2000 Nissan Maxima.

The owner is identified as identified as Mango resident Gwendolyn Patricia Belcher, 39.  Her car was found late Sunday near Taylor and Pruett roads.

The remains inside the car have not been identified due to the extensive damage caused by the fire.

After Belcher was reported missing, deputies learned that her husband, Christopher Belcher, had slapped her on Saturday night.  He was charged with domestic violence.

While the search for Gwendolyn Belcher continues, family members feel certain the remains found inside the burned-out Maxima are hers.

The remains are now in possession of the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner.
