BRANDON, Fla. - Students at Brandon and Armwood High Schools had grief counselors on campus today, to help deal with the sudden death of a student during basketball practice.
18 year-old senior Milo Meeks collapsed and died during normal conditioning exercises on Friday.
No cause has yet been determined.
But on Monday morning, the air among students was definitely a bit heavier.
"People are just shocked. No one expected anything like that to happen. It was more of just a surprise," senior Somto Chiadi said.
"It's our loss it's not my loss. It's our loss. And I think that goes to show right there what type of family we are,"said principal Carl Green.
"You know they're resilient. And they'e helping each other out, and working together as a family to try and get through it," said Beth Rimoldi, the grief counselor who has been meeting with the students.
