PLANT CITY, Fla - Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies say it was routine for Juan Alfaro, 80, of Plant City, to walk to the corner store each day.
On Wednesday though, he did not return leaving his family panicked.
Alfaro used a walker to help him get to the gas station on Turkey Creek Road. He left at 3:15 p.m. When he did not return by 7:00 p.m. his family called deputies.
Patrol deputies as well as K-9 deputies responded to Alfaro's home on Wyley Road and searched the area. They were not able to locate Alfaro. Alfaro's walker was found at 8:28 p.m. just north of Durant Road.
An aviation crew was brought out to help in the search. At 9:15 p.m., they were able to locate Alfaro walking along railroad tracks about a mile from his house.
Aviation directed deputies to Alfaro and he was brought back to his home.
