The trial for a Mango Elementary School teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old boy begins Monday.
Jury selection in the trial for Ethel Anderson, 30, is expected to begin in the morning, with opening statements directly afterward.
She faces three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Battery and two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said the victim was not a student at Mango Elementary, but that Anderson was tutoring him at her home.
"I think the relationship started and as it progressed he became more uncomfortable and got to the point where I don't think he wanted to go over to the house anymore," said Debbie Carter, Spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
She says the relationship turned sexual sometime in December 2011, and continued all the way into late February the following year.
"The child's mother found some text messages that she felt were inappropriate so she notified the sheriff's office," she said.
After a quick investigation, deputies took Anderson into custody February 29, 2012, at her home that she shared with her husband and their child.
