TAMPA - King High School teacher Jeffrey Halle, Jr. allegedly had sexual contact with one of his 17-year-old female students in a vacant classroom at the school, according to Hillsborough County deputies.
Halle made his first court appearance Tuesday morning. He was denied bond on a charge of sexual battery.
Detectives say the victim was enrolled in an after-school program supervised by Halle. From March 17 thru July 12, 2012, he and the victim would plan to meet in the vacant classroom during the after -school program.
On July 10, Halle made arrangements with the victim via text messages to meet with her at her residence, located in Hillsborough County, so he could engage in sexual intercourse.
When Halle arrived to pick up the victim, Halle was confronted by the victim's father and Halle left the residence. The parents notified HCSO and an investigation was initiated.
Halle was arrested late Monday afternoon.
