SEFFNER, Fla. - Detectives say the 16-year-old Armwood High School student who said she was the victim of an attempted abduction Wednesday morning has now recanted her story, saying it never happened.
Deputies in Hillsborough County spent two days looking for three men the teen said were involved in an attempted abduction at a school bus stop.
Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, the student told police, three men drove up in a silver van to a bus stop along Highway 92 at Anna Drive and grabbed her.
When detectives re-interviewed the girl Thusday afternoon, she recanted her story.
At this time, no charges have been filed, and detectives will be reviewing the case with the State Attorney's Office.
