A warrant has been issued for two suspects who injured a father and his son in a Plant City home invasion Monday night.
Leaford Shakes, 49, and his son, 24-year-old Vincent Shakes, were wounded in a shooting in the Hopewell area south of Plant City in eastern Hillsborough County.
Detectives with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said it started when two men showed up at the home of Vincent and his girlfriend, 22-year-old Michele Hargrove at 1108 Colson Road.
The men showed their guns and forced their way into the home.
One of the suspects then tied up Hargrove, but she was able to free herself and ran outside. A suspect fired a few rounds near Vincent's head to scare him and force him inside of the suspects' vehicle.
Once Vincent got into their vehicle, the suspects drove to the home of Vincent's parents, located at 5738 Horton Road. The suspects knew where his parents lived.
Once they reached the home, Vincent ran from the vehicle, through the garage, where his father was.
While the suspects were attempting to force their way into that home, Vincent's father, Leaford Shakes, 49, was attempting to hold the door closed. One of the suspects fired several rounds through the opening in the door, striking Leaford Shakes in the upper body.
Some time during the incident, Vincent was shot in the foot. The suspects got in and demanded money. After receiving money from the victims, they suspects fled the scene. Both Vincent and his father were taken to Tampa General Hospital.
One suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Stefan Jackson of Plant City. He is described as a black male, 5'8" 185 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
The suspect suspect is an unidentified black male, ages 18 - 22, 5'8" and 140 lbs. He is clean shaven with black hair and brown eyes
Both men were wearing hoodies, and they took off in a silver Dodge Durango.
Investigators said it does not appear to be a random act.
