BRANDON, Fla. - Michelle Netterville and Mary Morris enjoy living in Brandon off Providence Road. News of a body found at a nearby storage facility has the mother and daughter rattled.
"I just can't believe this happened so close to my home," said Netterville.
Investigators spent hours collecting evidence, after they received a 911 call from a landscaping crew that discovered the body. Detectives say the victim, a 27-year-old Wilkin Mieses Baker was murdered and suffered blunt force trauma to the upper body.
"We are are not sure how long the body has been here. That's something we'll determine through the course of working with the medical examiner," said Colonel Donna Luszynski with Hillsborough County.
Wesley Perdue works nearby and walks by this area every morning. He said not only will he not be doing that anymore, he wants to move back to Alabama.
"I have three young kids, I do not feel safe. I will be here another month, tops. And then I am packing up and moving," said Perdue.
No one from the storage facility could comment, but the consensus from this community is they are confident deputies will find who is responsible.
