Brandon clerk injured by unarmed robber, deputies searching for suspect

BRANDON - A Brandon store clerk is in the hospital after getting attacked in an early morning robbery.

The incident happened at 965 E Brandon Boulevard at 2:00 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities said a black male walked into the store without a weapon, wearing a hood and something to cover his face.

An altercation happened between the clerk and the unarmed suspect, but details on the confrontation have not yet been released.

The suspect then got away with some items and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk was hurt and taken to the hospital.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for the suspect and the incident is under investigation.
