WEEKI WACHEE - A 33-year-old man remains in jail after he sliced up a man’s electronic wheelchair Friday evening, and the victim says it was over a woman.
Deputies responded to a criminal mischief call at 9918 Osceola Boulevard in Weeki Wachee.
The victim, Donald Bloom, said that at 6:00 p.m. 33-year-old Brian Harrington sliced the tires and the seats on his electronic chair.
Bloom said Harrington was angry because Lisa Hare was living at Bloom’s residence.
Bloom said he left his home with Lisa to go to the store, and when he returned, he saw Harrington cutting slices into his wheelchair.
The suspect then fled the scene on a pink bicycle.
After officials searched the area for the defendant, they received an anonymous tip that Harrington was hiding in the area of 7148 Lykes Street in Hernando County.
Officials found him hiding behind the location and he was taken into custody. Harrington admitted to cutting Donald’s seat with a car key after being read his Miranda Rights.
He is being held on a $500 bond and his court date is scheduled on June 12 at 9 a.m.
