SPRING HILL, Fla. - Mangled metal remains where a family's home once stood.
"It looks like it started right here in the corner because that is where the worst part seems to be," said neighbor BJ Horton.
The fire started around one in the morning. A neighbor knew something was wrong when her dog Ranger started barking.
"Before you knew it the whole place went up in flames. I heard the glass shatter and I could just hear it popping," said neighbor Mary Catherine.
Pasco County Fire and Rescue said the family's mobile home is a complete loss.
BJ Horton lives next door to the home on St. Paul Drive in Spring Hill. He said the Parson family lives there with another couple and a few pets. Fire rescue said the pets did not make it out.
"The pets were apart of the family. You rarely saw the dogs outside unless they were with them," said Horton.
Fire Rescue said two people went to the hospital with serious burns. Neighbors believe they got them while trying to save the family pets.
"All I could hear was yelling and panicking. They were saying I have to go in and get the animals. I have to go in. Mr.Parson was just walking around and holding his head," said Catherine.
Neighbors now worry about how the Parsons will pick up the pieces.
"They were all retired. No one was working," said Horton.
Pasco County Fire and Rescue continues to investigate the fire.
