SPRING HILL, Fla. - Deputies need help in identifying four males after a cat was found wounded early Tuesday morning.

After hearing an animal in distress around 1:45 a.m., a resident called the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, and reported seeing four males near Seadragon Bluff in Spring Hill.  It appeared one was intentionally stabbing an animal.

The caller scared the four off and they ran towards the Suncoast Parkway.

A black and brown cat was found to be severely injured with a large puncture wound to the abdomen.

If you have any information on those who may be responsible, please contact the Hernando County Sheriff's Office at 352-754-6830.

Hernando County Animal Services said the cat died at the animal hospital.
