BROOKSVILLE, Fla - A Brooksville father is behind bars after having a McMeltdown at McDonalds Wednesday night.
David Pensiero, 49, is now facing domestic battery charges.
Hernando County Sheriff's deputies say Pensiero was driving to McDonald's with his son and became enraged when his son did not order him any food.
According to an arrest affidavit, Pensiero was yelling so loudly at his son, the son canceled his order and left the drive-thru.
Pensiero's son told deputies while driving west on Cortez Boulevard, in the area of I-75, his father slapped him causing him to swerve off the road.
When questioned by deputies, Pensiero reportedly stated, "Yes, I slapped him. He was being disrespectful."
Deputies encountered the father and son when they returned to Pensiero's house at 6181 La Pine Road in Brooksville. Deputies were called to the house regarding a verbal altercation that took place between Pensiero and his boyfriend. That altercation apparently took place minutes before the father and son left to McDonald's.
Pensiero's son told deputies his father had been drinking and was upset about the fight with his boyfriend, that is why he wanted to go get fast food.
According to an arrest affidavit, once in the back of the patrol car, Pensiero admitted several times to slapping his son but this time said he slapped his son because the son refused to pay any bills at the house.
Pensiero is being held without bond. A search of his criminal background revealed Pensiero was arrested twice last year for battery.
He is slated to appear before a judge October 8.
