BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Hernando County Commissioners held a special ceremony Monday, dedicating a stretch of road to Army Specialist Clarence Williams, III.

Yontz Road, from Howell Ave. to U.S. 98, now honors the fallen soldier. A special sign was also unveiled during the ceremony.

Spc. Williams died July 8, 2012 in Afghanistan. Williams and five comrades were killed when a roadside bomb hit their armored vehicle in the Wardak Province just south of Kabul.

Spc. Williams graduated from Hernando High School in 2008. His father is a trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol.
