HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla - Sheriff's detectives arrested a Spring Hill man on Wednesday. They say he used an 88-year-old woman's stolen debit card more than two dozen times.
Titus Houston, 41, told investigators he was the woman's home health care nurse and knew she had impaired judgment because of medical issues.
Houston made 27 transactions with the card, including paying his BrightHouse bill, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. He lives at the house where the cable bill was paid with the debit card.
Detectives showed up at Houston's Spring Hill home on Wednesday with surveillance photos of him allegedly using the card. He admitted to making the fraudulent transaction, investigators said.
Houston is accused of using the card in Hernando and Hillsborough counties. Thirteen of the 27 transactions, totaling $436, were made in Hernando County.
Houston was charged with exploitation of the elderly and was taken to jail.
Detectives believe Houston may have victimized more people. If you or someone you know may have been a victim of Houston, contact Detective Dustin Mormando at (352) 797-3728.
