BROOKSVILLE - Someone who wanted to remain anonymous called the sheriff's department about a cat head found in a Brooksville neighborhood.  Deputies recovered the head in the 11000 block of Salome Street.

The cat's fur is a mix of black and beige color, however the deputies were not able to find the cat's remains.

Neighbor's were contacted but no one recalled seeing anything suspicious that would account for the finding.

Due to a lack of evidence, the cat's head was recovered and put out with the garbage with permission from a neighbor near the area.  No one came forward missing a pet cat.
