SPRING HILL, Fla - Hernando County deputies have charged Carlos Alverio with 37 counts of possession of a gambling device after serving a search warrant at his Spring Hill game room.
On October 30, detectives with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Vice and Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of patrol deputies and FDLE agents, executed a search warrant at 5130 Commercial Way in Spring Hill, an arrest report states.
The address is that of Win City, a gambling establishment.
After an investigation by Sheriff's Office and review by the State Attorney's Office, it was determined that the computer gaming system used by the business was illegal, deputies say.
Detectives say they previously notified Alverio that the system was illegal. Alverio continued to operate the business, utilizing the illegal system, an arrest report states.
The execution of the search warrant resulted in Alverio's arrest , the seizure of all of the computer gaming systems contained inside, and $2,597 in U.S. currency.
Alverio is also facing one count of keeping a gambling house.
He is being held on $19,250 bond.
