BROOKSVILLE, Fla - Brooksville Police say a crimes against children case that began more than 1,000 miles away in Pennsylvania came to an end Tuesday when a fugitive was captured.
Wayne Richard Stough, 44, is now facing two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, one count of aggravated assault of a child, one count of aggravated indecent assault on a child less than 16-years-old, one count of indecent assault on a child less than 13 years of age, one count of indecent assault on a child less than 16 years of age, one count of corruption of minors and one count of unlawful contact with minors.
According to Brooksville PD, they were contacted Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Service in reference to an out-of-state fugitive who had multiple active Pennsylvania warrants for sex offenses against children.
The Task Force was conducting covert surveillance on Stough's apartment located at 7909 Crystal Brook Circle in Brooksville, and confirmed he was inside the apartment.
Stough reportedly left his apartment in the afternoon hours and was approached by Task Force officer and officers of Brooksville PD.
Stough was taken into custody.
He is now being held without bond in the Hernando County Jail while awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.
