HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla - A Brooksville man is accused of attacking his own father with a wooden sword Tuesday.
Giovoni Trent, 25, is now facing aggravated battery charges.
Deputies say Trent got into an argument with his father and it escalated into a physical confrontation.
Trent, according to deputies, punched his father in the face, then armed himself with a large wooden Samurai sword.
The victim reportedly told deputies his son struck him in the head and arm with the sword.
Deputies noted the victim had significant bruising and swelling on his head. He also had blood draining from his ears, an arrest report states.
A female who lived at the residence witnessed the altercation. She told deputies the fight between father and son was over the son not paying rent.
Trent was arrested and is being held without bond.
He is slated to appear in court on November 5.
