A Hernando County man is dead after investigators say his girlfriend's son stabbed him over the weekend.
The incident happened at 10036 Hayes Street, in Spring Hill, Fla.
Deputies say 39-year-old David Floyd got into a confrontation with his girlfriend's 17-year-old son, just before 3:30 Sunday afternoon. ABC Action News reporter James Jackson was told they all live at the home.
The teen reportedly left the house, but came back a short time later. Investigators say that's when he got a knife from the kitchen and allegedly stabbed Floyd in the chest.
Three other kids were reportedly in the home at the time. Floyd was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
He later succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, has been charged with first degree murder. The investigation is now a homicide.
