The only industry the American public dislikes more than politics is the national media. And we've found an example of how the two collide: major media outlets are predicting that real estate mogul Donald Trump will endorse a candidate for president today.

But the Wall Street Journal and CNN both disagree on which candidate that will be.

The Wall Street Journal's Neil King Jr. says in the Washington Wire blog that the Donald will endorse Newt Gingrich. The announcement is "confirmed by people within the Gingich campaign." The Atlanta Journal Constitution and the AP agree.

If you'd rather believe that the self-made millionaire would rather back the front-runner, you have Mark Preston posting in CNN's Political Ticker blog that he'll back Mitt Romney. Again, "sources with knowledge of the endorsement" are cited. The New York Times agrees in a blog post.

We'll find out who was right today when Trump makes his expected endorsement shortly after noon in Las Vegas.
