Vice President Joe Biden will visit Oakstead Elementary School in Land O'Lakes today to deliver remarks urging Congress to pass the American Jobs Act to keep teachers in the classroom, rebuild schools in Florida and across the nation, and put more money in the pockets of working Americans -- without adding to the deficit.
Pasco County Public Schools eliminated 513 positions for the 2011-2012 school year, including 8 out of 83 teachers at Oakstead Elementary School.
During his visit, the Vice President will focus on the impact of teacher layoffs on the quality of education for middle class families and highlight how budget cuts are impacting our children's education and prospects for competing in the future.
ABC Action News will be covering the Vice President's visit and will have a full report Tuesday evening.
