Pasco County commissioners plan to discuss tightening regulations at gun shows tomorrow. 

 

The Florida Coalition to Stop Gun Violence is hoping the county does vote to close the gun show loophole. Right now the loophole allows purchases at gun shows and flea markets without a background check or three-day waiting period.

 

It could mean if people want to sell their guns at guns shows or flea markets, they would have to become a licensed retailer.

 

"The majority of people I see at a gun show are reputable, honest people," says Bill Bunding, a Republican Committeeman in Pasco County. "And I don't see a problem with these people."

 

He says closing the gun show loophole puts an unreasonable financial burden on private citizens trying to sell their guns and does nothing but attack the second amendement. 

 

Pasco County commissioners debated this same issue 13 years ago but voted it down. Now, though, folks on both sides of the debate say it's more likely to pass this time due to the debate across the country.
