Classic fairy tales too scary for kids?

A new study says some parents feel that classic fairy tales such as Brothers Grimm and Cinderella are too scary for children to read.

The Huffington Post report that a study conducted by the British television channel 'Watch' found one-third of parents reported that their children started crying after parents read the books to them.

The British survey also found that some parents feel the fairy tales are sexist.

More than half of the parents who were involved in the study say they didn't read their kids Cinderella because she spends most of her time doing housework. They felt it sent a bad message about women in the workplace.
