TAMPA, Fla. - More than 9,000 people are expected to attend the anime convention, METROCON, this weekend at the Tampa Convention Center.
Anyone who's familiar with the animated TV show Pokemon or Speed Racer is familiar with the flashy style of Japanese anime.

Costumed and non-costumed fans alike will be able to meet stars from the anime world, take part in video games, human chess games, live fire shows, and more. Organizers call METROCON the largest anime convention in Florida and they hope to expand the 3-day event into a 4-day convention once it tops 10,000 attendees.
The event runs Friday through Sunday.
This weekend's hours are:
Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 a.m., tickets: $35
Sunday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., tickets: $30
Fans can get a two-day pass for $60.
