You don’t have to speak Mandarin to appreciate the kitchen lesson in this Chinese-language YouTube video.
It comes from the Chinese site Jifenzhong, and it tackles a task that befuddles cooks everywhere: separating yolk from egg whites.
This little trick doesn’t involve draining the yolk from a cracked egg, where many of us (raises hand) end up with a little yolk getting past the shell barrier.
The video, published July 30, has garnered over 2.6 million hits.
