Study finds men, women use different methods to find parked cars

The strategy you use to remember where you parked your car comes down to your sex, according to a recent Dutch study.

Their research found 24 percent of men tend to use distance and mileage terms when describing how to get to their cars, compared to 38 percent of women who used visible landmarks to get their bearings.

 Dr. Albert Postma, a professor of neuropsychology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands says men’s brains are better tuned to distance information while women focus on the connection between objects and landmarks.

The study was geared toward exploring gender differences regarding spatial memory, which helps people remember where things are placed and recall how to get to places.
