Forbes.com is out with its annual list of "most miserable" cities and surprisingly, Miami is at the very top.
According to Forbes, the city known for glitz and glamor is suffering through a housing crisis that has 47% of homeowners stuck with underwater mortgages. In addition, hundreds of thousands of homes have entered foreclosure since 2008.
Forbes.com's method of ranking "miserable" cities included 10 factors: violent crime rate, property tax rates, commute, political corruption and how area pro sports teams performed, among others.
Another surprise: West Palm Beach at number 4. Forbes cites corruption and home prices that are down by 50%.
Fort Lauderdale also made the top ten list at number 7.
Michigan’s troubled cities Detroit and Flint take the No. 2 and No. 3 spots respectively -- the auto industry decline to blame. Toledo comes in at No. 8.
