Martha Stewart built a billion-dollar empire being the queen of domestication and craftiness, but it still surprises many fashionistas that the mogul would make a change to what some consider the “soul” of popular ChristianLouboutins: the red sole.
That red glossy sole is highly sought after in the fashion world, with prices that range from the hundreds to the thousands.
Those who can’t quite afford it have even been known to paint or tape the color red on cheaper shoes to make the look more accessible. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diGo_hKY7Gk )
But Stewart, 71, admits that she’s never been a fan of the red bottoms, so what’s her solution?
“I paint them black,” she said.
Even though the shoe maker is known for being very protective of his trademark, he’s made an exception for Stewart.
She says she asked him if he minded her coloring his shoe black, and he gave her his seal of approval.
