Highland Park firefighter mounts camera to helmet, makes video of footage

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. - They put their lives on the line everyday.

Now, you can put yourself in the boots of a firefighter.

For the past year, Scott Ziegler of Highland Park,  has had a camera mounted to his helmet recording the department's runs. At the end of 2012, he put together a montage of the footage he recorded, posting a video to YouTube that shows their daily heroics.

You'll see homes and buildings up in flames and a firefighter's point of view as they're inside risking everything to keep the city safe.

Ziegler says he hopes this video will bring awareness to what departments across the nation are going through.
