CALIFORNIA - Three women finishing up their meals at a California restaurant got an unwelcome surprise when they read a phrase on their bill intended to describe them: Fat Girls.
Christine Duran, Christina Huerta and Isabel Robles were shocked at what they read on the receipt from Chilly D’s Sports Lounge, a restaurant inside of the Cameo Club Casino. (Watch video below or click here: http://abcn.ws/SXC2Bf)
“I got the bill, and I was like, why does the receipt say, “fat girls?” Duran said in a News 10 interview.
When the women questioned their server about the receipt, he said an employee named “Jeff” must have typed the “fat girls” term into the system to keep track of their bill.
Duran says a manager came to the women’s table to further explain, but he wore a smirk on his face, as though he was trying not to laugh.
Management offered to reduce their bill by 25 percent, then 50, but the women turned the offers down. An apology was posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page, saying the behavior was unacceptable and they hope the women return to the restaurant, so the restaurant’s owners can personally apologize.
