After a 29-year-old Deltona man reportedly drove while intoxicated, he smashed his own face and spit blood at deputies, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office told The Orlando Sentinel.
During the incident Tuesday, the Sentinel reports Kelsey Smith was hit with a stun gun and arrested, charged with driving under the influence and resisting without violence, records show.
Officers had to put a "spit hood' over his head during his arrest, according to the report .
Smith also fought back while his mug shot was taken, sticking out his tongue as someone wearing gloves held his head still for the photo.
