Leaving the working world behind is a dream for many Americans, but one 99-year-old teacher from Chicago has been teaching since 1947, and she plans to keep it that way, CBS Chicago reports.

Olivia Neubauer, who turns 100 in two weeks, teaches reading to kindergartners and pre-kindergartners.

She calls her students darling, and sings their praises, but her own children, a 65-year-old son and a 60-year-old daughter aren’t fond of her still teaching.

They want her to retire, but Neubauer told CBS Chicago, “If I had my choice, I’d just come back.”

In addition to enjoying her students, she likes the fact that she isn’t sitting down to watch television all the time.
