Alleged Walmart shoplifter dies after employees, security tackle him in Georgia parking lot

LITHONIA, Ga. - A man accused of stealing two DVD players from a Georgia Walmart Sunday died after getting into a confrontation with two Walmart employees and a security guard, ABC News reports.

Both police and Walmart officials are investigating the incident that happened at the Lithonia store’s parking lot at 1:30 a.m.

The unidentified victim walked out of the store’s front door and was approached by employees who suspected him of shoplifting.  

Officers saw the employees on top of the suspect when they arrived, and when they bent down to handcuff the man, they noticed there wasn’t any resistance.

He was bleeding from the nose and mouth.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
