PASCO COUNTY, Fla. - The cold front that crossed through Florida on Thursday night is expected to bring the coldest weather of the season to the Tampa Bay area.
In preparation for potentially freezing temperatures on Saturday morning, Pasco County is opening up three cold weather shelters today:
Community Congregational Church
6533 Circle Drive
Port Richey, FL
(727) 597-0428
note: families not allowed in this shelter
The Holy Ground Shelter
8835 Denton Avenue
Hudson, FL
(727) 863-9123
The Christian Church
34921 Chancey Road
Zephyrhills, FL
(813) 810-8670
The low temperatures and wind chills are dangerous to anyone who will be outside for a long period of time. Children, the elderly and pets are especially vulnerable to the cold and extra care should be taken to protect them.
