TAMPA - Authorities with OSHA and Hillsborough County are investigating a warehouse where large quantities of synthetic marijuana are being produced, packaged and distributed to the Tampa Bay market.

Often known as Spice or K-2, synthetic marijuana is dangerous -- and profitable.

Earlier today, HCSO detectives inspected the warehouse at 6308 Benjamin Road, Suite 712 (just south of Johns Road) and found a large quantity of unprocessed K2, along with heavy amounts of chemicals being used to soak the synthetic pot.

Last week Gov. Rick Scott signed a new law banning more ingredients frequently used to manufacture fake marijuana.

We are told that efforts are already under way to change the ingredients to comply with the new law.

HCSO detectives, OSHA, EPA and Fire State Fire Marshal's Office are on scene conducting further investigation for any safety hazards to the public.
