Are you ever curious about the real lives of politicians, celebrities, local newsmakers and athletes? Who are their mentors and who would they really like to meet?
Each Tuesday, ABC Action News asks 10 questions of a Bay area leader or celebrity. They're fun questions that help you get to know the person.
This week we hear from radio personality Corey Dylan.
Corey and I share something in common: We were both raised in Seattle, Washington.
Corey has traveled the world in hopes of sharing interesting stories with the people she meets.
She started her broadcasting career in Washington, at Washington State University where she worked on a midday show.
But, her first paying job was as a news reader in Bakersfield, California at an AM station.
Corey said she worked 80 plus hours a week and it was worth it.
But, she really wanted to get back to Seattle. She eventually took a part time job and with hard work and perseverance landed a full time position in her home town.
In May of 2002, Corey accepted a position here on Tampa at WPOI FM, Tampa Bay's 101.5 The Point, music of the 80's and eventually the 90's as well.
After nearly 10 years, the radio station decided to change formats and Corey was left searching for a job.
She was open about the struggle and encourages people to keep faith and have hope. Her perseverance paid off again.
Currently, Corey works on 970 WFLA-AM joining long time hosts Jack Harris and Ted Webb.
Corey believes in giving back. She has volunteered at Children's Hospital in Seattle, been a Big Sister for a great little girl with the Big Brothers & Big Sisters Organization of Pinellas County, and I often see her at charity events.
Recently, we we were both celebrity bartenders for the All Sports Foundation founded by Superbowl Champion TYrone Keys.
Speaking of charity, one of Corey's greatest moments she said happened a few years back. She along with an Indy driver beat Danica Patrick & Virgina Johnson in a Hard Rock remote controlled car race. They won $2500 for Children's Hospital.
Here are ten questions for Corey Dylan:
1. What is your all time favorite movie or song?
"When Harry Met Sally"
2. Do you have a Smartphone? If so, what's your favorite app?
iPhone 3GS. My favorite app right now is Instagram: it allows you to take photos, put special effects on them and share them with everybody, everywhere...and it's FREE!
3. Who do you count as your mentor(s)?
One of the first jobs I had in radio was as a producer for "The Robin & Maynard Show" in Seattle, WA. I was with them for 5 years and count them as mentors and friends.
4. What was your very first job?
I was a restaurant hostess at Marie Calendars.
5. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I wish I worried a little less about where I was going and enjoyed "the moment" a little longer.

A million condiments, Prosecco, Granny Smith Washington Apples, Chai Tea, Parmesan Cheese, Broccoli, Greek Yogurt, Calamata Olives, & beer...apparently I like to be ready for cocktails and appetizers at a moment's notice!
