TAMPA - Are you ever curious about the real lives of politicians, celebrities, local newsmakers and athletes?
Each Tuesday, ABC Action News asks 10 questions of a Bay area leader, politician or even national celebrity.
We go beyond the questions that are news of the day. After all sometimes, we want know more about them. What's their favorite music? Greatest success? And who do they look up to?
I am honored to profile my fellow dancers taking part in Julie Weintraub's Hands Across the Bay Dancing with the Stars local extravaganza.
I am humbled to take part in this event which is one of the most popular in the Bay area.
Proceeds from the Hands Across the Bay event benefit local charities and individuals who need help.
This week, we feature Niko Mercuris, owner of Creative Solutions Marketing Inc.
But a business owner is just one element of this entrepreneur.
Niko is also an author, writer, and a coach/consultant on personal development and self-awareness.
He was born in Salt Lake City Utah but moved to Sacramento, California and to Atlanta Georgia before his family settled down Florida.
Reading his history, it shows his parents set great examples.
Hi family lived in Terra Verde in St. Pete. His father owned the "Never on Sunday" Greek restaurant In Indian Rocks Beach.
Sadly, he passed away when Niko was only eight years old. His mother took charge, opening another business, an antique and jewelry store, called the "Tamed Crow."
He grew up in Pinellas and said over the past fifteen years he has built several multi-million dollar companies, that he is very proud of.
And, I know he will do great in this years Dancing with the Stars event!

1. What is your all time favorite movie or song?
Movie: True Romance Song: Queens Bohemian Rhapsody"
2. Do you have a Smartphone? If so, what's your favorite app?
Yes-Facebook seems to be the most used I HATE TO SAY IT..
3. Who do you count as your mentor(s)?
I have many mentors in my life, from my mother to mother Theresa to Business mentors like Mike Klingler to Tim Taylor , they might not be mainstream famous but they will be.. ;)
4. What was your very first job?
My first job was washing dishes at the Countryside Country Club when I was 16 years old
5. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
If I could change only one thing it would have to be my stick-to-it-iv-ness, I would like to complete more projects!
6. What do you consider your greatest success?
Becoming a published author was a nice accomplishment
7. Tell us something about you most people don’t know?
Most people don't know that I am scared to do most of the things that people look up to me for doing.. I push through the fear anyway because I know the reward out ways any negative that could come from not doing it.
8. If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?
Jesus, Elvis and my Mother, (at the same time) because my Mother is the best cook to cook this dinner and she would be upset if I didn't invite her to meet Jesus and Elvis..
9. What is in your fridge right now?
Hmm.. Milk, veggies, cheese, eggs, lots of "real water"
10. If you could have a different career, other then what you're doing now, what would it
I think it would be fun to be an actor in the movies. I might still do that someday :)
Fred Astaire Dance Studio in North Tampa donated all my lessons as well as the lessons for the other fellow dancers.
Dancing has become an extremely popular work out and activity following the hit ABC series, DANCING WITH THE STARS.
Fred Astaire Studio's in Tampa Bay are graciously providing the training we need. My dance instructor, Chris Carr is the best teacher! He is so patient with me and my two left feet:)
