TAMPA - 10 Questions For Tampa Public Information Officer Laura McElroy:

1.) What is your all time favorite movie or song?
Rudy is an all time favorite movie among the McElroy kids. My younger brother and I still call or text each other whenever it's on. I love the concept of the underdog winning. If one of my brothers, my parents or I'm facing a tough challenge, we'll leave each other a voicemail with the Rudy chant, "Rudy Rudy Rudy!"

2.) Do you have a Smartphone? If so, what's your favorite app?
Blackberry which I use to keep my life as efficient as possible. Google Map gets used a lot because I get lost going to most crime scenes!

3.) Who do you count as your mentor(s)?.
My mother and father.  Different teachers, professors and bosses have influenced me along the way, but none shaped me like good ole mom and dad.

4.) What was your very first job?
Nurse's aide in a nursing home - was certified at 15 years old

5.) If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
To be more prompt

6.) What do you consider your greatest success?
Marrying my husband Jeff and having my daughter Morgan Louise

7.) Tell us something about you most people don't know?
My nickname with my cousins growing up was Laura Jean the Jelly Bean.  My nickname in college and my early days as a news reporter and anchor was Laura Jean the News Machine.

8.) If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?
Eleanor Roosevelt, Jane Austen, Calvin Coolidge

9.) What is in your fridge right now?
Salmon for tonight's dinner, left over stir fry, yogurt, cheese sticks, sliced chicken sandwich meat, low carb tortillas, whole milk for my daughter and skim for mommy and daddy, too much diet coke, fruits, vegetables, organic eggs and organic yogurt smoothies

10. If you could have a different career other then what you're doing now, what would it be?
College professor or nursing
