TAMPA - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Friday, January 4.
(1) Florida's Largest Home Show
Homeowners can get ideas on how to improve their homes with the opening of Florida's Largest Home Show at the Tampa Convention Center on Friday.
More than 900 exhibits will showcase the latest in products and services. Experts will show how to spruce up lawns, gardens, patios, kitchens, roofs and more.
Featured demonstrations and exhibits include: the Winter Winederland Celebration with wine tastings and private-label products, Bug Free Backyards' automated insect control misting system, Southern Comfort Swings, Relax in Comfort massage chairs and eco-memory foam mattresses, Vermont Woodfired Ovens and Armor Guard home interior painting tips.
Show hours are Friday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
ABC Action News is giving attendees free admission on Friday.
Admission on Saturday and Sunday is $8 for adults and $7 for seniors. Children under 12 are admitted free.

(2) Roosevelt Rowing Regatta
The second Roosevelt Rowing Regatta begins at the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa on Friday.
The three-day event features rowing, paddle-board, kayak and dragon boat races along with delicious seafood dishes.
Regatta events begin tonight from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. when lanterns will be launched on the Hillsborough River. The $20 lanterns are to remember children who have lost their lives and to honor those who survive. Proceeds benefit the Children's Dream Fund.
The races between collegiate and high school teams will occur on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.
General admission seating is free on the weekend. You can also purchase $45 tickets to the special Steward's Enclosure reserved viewing area.

(3) Seniors Crime Prevention & Safety Fair
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Northdale OWLS and the Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Seniors Crime Prevention & Safety Fair on Friday.
The event will help educate senior citizens on a number of topics.
Guests will give lectures on personal safety, frauds and scams, residential security, fire safety and emergency preparedness. There will also be displays, informational booths, business sponsors and vendor tables present.
Operation Medicine Cabinet will be on hand at the HCSO display table to impound any unwanted or expired medications for destruction.
Food and drinks will be provided and attendees can enter to prizes.
The event is taking place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Northdale Recreation Center at 15550 Spring Pine Drive in Tampa.
(4) 2013 Under Armour All-America Game
More than 90 of the best high school senior football players will be in St. Petersburg on Friday for the sixth annual Under Armour All-America High School Football Game.
The game is being held at Tropicana Field. Kick off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. It will be broadcast live on ESPN.
Former NFL head coaches Herm Edwards and Steve Mariucci will coach the two teams. Edwards will serve as head coach of Team Highlight (Black Team), while Mariucci will coach Team Nitro (White Team).
The rosters will feature the nation's top high school football prospects, according to the ESPNU 150 player rankings.
Twenty-two of the players are from Florida including Vernon Hargreaves III (Wharton), Leon McQuay (Seffner), Ryan Green (St. Petersburg Catholic), Alvin Bailey (Armwood), and Sean Covington (St. Petersburg High).
Ten of the players have committed to play at Florida universities with six at the University of Florida, two at the University of Miami and two at Florida State University.

(5) Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino expansion celebration
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is hosting a special party on Friday night to celebrate the gaming complex's $75 million expansion.
The expansion made the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa the fourth largest casino in the United States and the sixth largest in the world.
Tonight's events begin with an invite-only meet and greet with multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning singer Paula Abdul at 5:00 p.m. followed by an open-to-the-public after party with world-famous DJ Ravi Drums.
DJ Ravi Drums has been voted "The World's Best Innovative DJ/Drummer." He has performed at red carpet events for Michael Jordan, Nike, HBO, Nintendo and FOX.
The Tampa native has recorded and performed with artists such as Will Smith, Ricky Martin, Black Eyed Peas, Slash and Lil Jon.
Tonight at the Seminole Hard Rock he will remix live on the drums and introduce his dream screen to Florida for the first time. The see-through, touch screen DJ booth fuses DJ technology with NASA science.
