TAMPA BAY, Fla. - Here are five things you need to know happening in Florida on Friday, June 24.

(1) TIA property auction

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority begins their annual lost and abandoned property auction in a new way on Friday.

Instead of auctioning off the goods left behind at Tampa International Airport in a building on airport property, officials are holding an 18-day public online auction at www.govdeals.com .

The online auction begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and will close on Monday, July 11, between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.

Items for sale include watches, luggage, clothing, books, car seats, strollers, walking canes, laptop computers, electronic games, sunglasses, eyeglasses, leather jackets and more.

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority gives no warranties of any kind concerning any items they are selling through the auction.

(2) NOW National Conference

Hundreds of feminist activists from around the country will be in Tampa beginning on Friday for the National Organization for Women's (NOW) 2011 Women National Conference.

The theme for the three-day-long conference is "Daring to Dream: Building a Feminist Future." The theme centers on advancing principles that have been steering feminism all along: equality, fairness, opportunity, non-violence and empowerment.

NOW believes this conference comes at a critical time, just over a year before Tampa holds the Republican National Convention.

"We will join together to strategize and get ready for the many challenges ahead of us, including economic justice and reproductive rights," said NOW President Terry O'Neill. "We will also soon be faced with the 2012 Elections, which will be critical to women."

The conference takes place at the Embassy Suites Tampa-USF on Spectrum Boulevard in Tampa.

Some of the guest speakers during the conference include Marleine Bastien, Tampa Police Chief Jane Castor, Kate Dillon, Celinda Lake, Dr. Maya Rockeymoore and Patricia Schroeder.

You can view a full list of speakers or get more information about the conference at www.now.org .

(3) Karina Smirnoff guest judge

Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Karina Smirnoff will be a guest judge for the Millennium Dancesport Championships beginning on Friday.

The live ballroom dance competition features youth, pro-am, and professional competitions.

The event's theme this year is Welcome to Burlesque. The stage will be transformed into a sexy, classy boudoir with dancers wearing an array of dazzling costumes.

Tonight and tomorrow night five world champion dancers in five different dance styles will take to the floor to show off their winning moves.
