TAMPA - Along with anniversaries and birthdays, Richard and Jill Beistle have been keeping a date for free annual health screenings.
"It's important because you need to know what your numbers are," said Jill, " rather than wait until something happens to you and you land in the hospital."
Dr. Charles Lambert is involved in the annual health screenings at Florida Hospital Pepin Heart Institute.
He said medical experts can pick up some significant warning signs in a matter of minutes.
"If I know what your cholesterol is, what's your BMI, your body mass index is, what your family history is, you can, with amazing accuracy, predict the risk factors... the actual risk of having cardiovascular disease," said Dr. Lambert.
On Thursday, April 11, Florida Hospital Pepin Heart Institute in Tampa is hosting free 15 minute health screenings at their location on East Fletcher Avenue. It will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
