CDC report says bread is the biggest source of salt in the American diet

You might be surprised by the worst sodium culprits in your diet.

A report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lists 10 foods that account for 40 percent of our salt intake and it’s not chips or bacon that top the list.

It’s breads and rolls that are number one, followed by deli meats, then pizza.

Soup was in the middle, while potato chips where at the bottom of the list.

The CDC said it isn’t that bread has an immense amount of sodium but that it makes up a large portion of what we eat everyday.
