TAMPA, Fla. - Kindergarten teacher Krystal Bullard swam with the sharks at the Florida Aquarium in Channelside. Her students were watching as she went into the water. Fortunately, Bullard was not harmed.
At the beginning of the school year, Bullard made an agreement with her students: she would swim with sharks, if each student read 100 books.
Her students met their end of the bargain. Bullard had to be certified in scuba diving in order to fulfill her end of the deal.
Bullard teaches at Four Corners Charter School in Davenport. The Florida aquarium allowed her to dive with the dangerous fish free of charge.
Bullard's dive happened on teacher appreciation week.
