The eastbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge were closed for two hours Wednesday afternoon as Florida Highway Patrol troopers investigated and cleaned up after a beer truck crashed.

According to the FHP, preliminary evidence indicates Jeremy Nicholas Greathouse, of Riverview, lost control of the Miller Lite tractor trailer he was driving, due to wet conditions. The truck collided with the outside concrete railing and jackknifed, blocking both eastbound lanes of the bridge.

Greathouse was charged with careless driving. Neither he nor the trailer (and its contents) were harmed in the accident.
