The flu is spreading across the Tampa Bay area and the rest of the country this year. Here's some advice on how you can try to avoid getting sick.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has identified six everyday items that you may want to consider trying to avoid.
Research shows influenza virus frequently detected on these surfaces:
Germs are spread from person to person through coughing, sneezing, or even talking with someone with the flu.
They can also spread if you touch something with the virus on it. If you can't avoid these items, at least make sure you clean them regularly. Some experts suggest caring around hand sanitizer or anti-bacterial wipes.
