TAMPA - DICK's Sporting Goods will open a prototype store at WestShore Plaza next year, according to a statement released Tuesday.
The new store will be located near the west entrance, taking the space held by Saks Fifth Avenue. The space will be vacated in early May. About 100 employees are affected.
"We are pleased to welcome the newest DICK'S Sporting Goods concept to the center. As their flagship in the Tampa-Clearwater area, we are certain the store will be draw to the active family shopper looking for great athletic brands," said WestShore Plaza General Manager Jay Botsch.
WestShore Plaza features more 120 specialty shops and a long list of popular restaurants.
WestShore Plaza is a joint venture property with Blackstone and Glimcher Realty Trust.
