As holiday shipping kicks into high gear, private shipping companies aren't the only ones rushing to deliver.
Thursday and Friday are set to be the top delivery days for the US Postal Service as well.
On Monday, the Post Office took in an estimated 658 million packages, and many of those will now be out for delivery.
Carriers have a lot more cargo in the days leading up to Christmas. So the USPS
says don't be alarmed if your mail or packages get to your home a little later than usual. Thursday is expected to be the peak shipping day of the year for ups.
the company expects to deliver an estimated 28 million packages worldwide today.
today is also the deadline to ship packages using UPS 2nd day air if you want to have them arrive in time for Christmas.
