SEMINOLE, Fla. - A Seminole woman made sure all of her final arrangements were taken care of in advance. But more than a year after her death, family members are still waiting for a decent memorial.
Cancer claimed Ann Kiszkeil at 87 but not before she took care of the important stuff. Ann left letters for her children. She also pre arranged her final resting place, in a crypt next to her husband and son over looking a flower covered hill.
Trips to the Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole disturb Kiszkeil's daughter Stephanie Baker. It is about more than the loss of her mother.
Baker’s mother passed away in October of 2010, yet the memorial marker remains blank in spite of numerous calls she says she made to Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home.
“They said they were back logged and backed up and next you know it has been one year. This part was purely heart wrenching,” said Baker.
We contacted the funeral home's general manager and asked about the marker. In an email he blamed the manufacturer for numerous delays.
"During the manufacturing process the bronze manufacturer underwent a major computer software upgrade which created new order numbers...causing the manufacturer to miss several delivery dates.”
Now the funeral home has re-ordered Ann Kiszkeil's memorial marker. A proper plate is on the way bringing with it peace for her family.
The funeral home also apologized for the delay.
